Epson recently made an addition to their range of projectors with the new Epson Home Cinema 4010 4K 3LCD Projector with High Dynamic Range. This newest addition to the Epson Home Cinema Projector family leverages Epson’s new proprietary 4K PRO-UHD technology which Epson states that it has enhanced pixel-shifting, resolution-enhancement technology, along with an expansive DCI-P3 color gamut, high dynamic range and 100 percent balanced color brightness to display bright, full-colored imagery and stunning resolution for an immersive viewing experience that friends and family will love.
Eager to upgrade my home TV/Film viewing experience, I jumped at the opportunity to try and go beyond the traditional television set many of us have in our homes. I’m a huge fan of various films and television shows and wanted my viewing experience to feel like I’ve spent $20+ at an IMAX theater here in New York City. Yes, movies can cost that much in the big apple! Anywho, my humble abode has relatively high ceilings and huge white walls. The distance from couch to my current flat screen tv is about 20 feet across. This is where I envisioned placing the Epson Home Cinema 4010 projector. It’s perfect for the distance and I could make the picture any size I wanted to.
Arriving a few weeks ago, the projector is simply a beautiful piece of machinery, right out of the box. It has a crisp white color and sleek design. In the box was the power cord, two HDMI cable clamps, remote control with AA batteries, and Quick Setup Guide. The setup guide was simple and to the point. I was able to install the projector in less than 10 minutes, mainly because I had its location mapped out before it arrived. My new projector sits directly behind my couch on a high table, where is projects perfectly on the wall.
Let’s talk about Epson Home Cinema 4010 key features:

Final Words
As an owner of a Chromecast, Roku TV, and Fire Stick TV, I’ve decided to plug them into the HDMI port to watch my favorite movies. They all work pretty well with the projector. Not much quality is lost during the daylight either. For the best quality, of course, you would want to use videos with the highest resolution like 4K. At some point, I plan to add my blu ray player, extra speakers, and utilize the 3D feature to the mix so I will never have to spend $20 at the movie theater again!
While I did try my hardest to find something wrong with this projector, I didn’t. I actually thought I would not be able to project it on the wall correctly but the Lens Shift feature was truly amazing with assisting me during set up.
The projector is bulky and heavy but once you find the right location and nestle it into its spot, all is forgotten.
