One of my favorite pieces was this structured, embellished blouse and slim skirt combo, worn by model Bria Murphy. The balance of the dramatic shoulders and heavy embellishment over a simple pencil skirt is incredibly chic.
This canary yellow blazer with orange lining is perfect for spring. Its an easy, wearable piece that goes well over a nice jean or khakis.
This retro cocktail dress would be a welcome addition in any woman’s closet. The cut is flattering and the flower detail adds a bit more to the feminine appeal of this piece.
The show was one part of a major event by “Fashion for Autism” a philanthropic vehicle that raises funds for autism treatment, research and provides assistance to families affected by the disorder. The organization was launched earlier this year during New York’s fashion week in February and sponsors events across the country. Along with Edwing’s presentation, guests also viewed the runway style of fledgling designer, Luis Marcao. In addition to the runway shows there was a silent auction and several vendor stations set up, all of which gave a portion of their proceeds to the charity. This is a great designer who is not really getting all the attention and prizes that he deserves. I just hope that with write ups like this the consumer and the industry will start to notice this rising star. D’Angelo is trully a great talent that we should all support and look out for.
