During New York Fashion Week, JCPenney took the opportunity to debut its newest designer collaboration with print master Duro Oluwu. Nowadays everyone and their mama can’t wait to get their hands on a designer piece and thank God for budget-friendly stores like JCP for making designer duds available for those of us who have to have a clothing budget.
The celebration was held at The Time Warner Center and the place was filled with Duro’s colorful prints that were draped on belted trench coats, blouses, and jewelry, and he even designed home essentials such as a zebra print vase and printed throw pillows. Guests were treated to free manicures and fruity cocktails. The designer was even on hand himself to answer questions about the collection.
There were racks and racks of full skirts, girly tops, and flowy dresses. Even more stunning than the clothes itself was the accessories. Printed clutches, jewel encrusted shoes, and African inspired jewelry served as anchors for the entire collection. Although we were able to get a sneak peek early, you can get your hands on this collection starting March 1st.
