The
They started me off with a few really structured suit pieces and separates that made me think “grey is not all that bad”. I have to keep in mind that this is menswear so greys, blacks, and blues are the norm.
My favorite pieces of the collection were a chambray colored suit with a block design and a structured gray zip front jacket. but there was more to come.
Then came the rose print sheers. Whenever I complain about menswear being plain I will remember the rose print pieces from this collection and be thankful.
Don’t get me wrong, I see what you were trying to do. It’s what I’ve come to love and hate about Duckie Brown there is a few pieces that embody structured simplicity then there are the outlandish pieces that dare to be different….just perhaps a bit too different. The rose print just seems like 2 steps and a hop away from a Hawaiian print shirt.
Just me?

Dear John,
Thanks for writing about DUCKIE BROWN
Actually the first 5 looks of the collection were in black nylon and were as unstructured as you can get.
Glad you noticed the rose printed pieces.
Next time you’re around in NYC we would love to have you around to our studio to really talk about what we do and why we do it
Best,
Daniel
