Duckie Brown took Industria Studios by storm on the first official day of New York Fashion Week, bringing together fashion elite.
The design team of Steven Cox and Daniel Silver delivered a rousing menswear collection of rich color palettes and clever details. You have to love the design duo for their take on inventive double pant cuffs and fun pops of color when least expected.
Personally, I was so excited to see a recurring theme of oversized garments that I literally shrieked with joy – twice. The collection was precisely coordinated, mixing tailored coats with flowing undergarments that gave the impression of wearing a skirt without wearing a skirt.
The new collection has several highlights, including the electric blue wool backward coat, the dark Japanese denim jean jacket and the burgundy wool wide sleeve coat. The absolute standout piece is the white Hudson Bay double-breasted coat with the vertical black stripe.
Duckie Brown has received an increased amount of attention over the past several seasons. With the addition of the F/W ’13 collection, it’s safe to say that the menswear brand is more than ready for a long moment in the spotlight.
