DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS is one of the country’s largest supporters of direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk. Merging care and commerce, supporters of DIFFA come from all fields of fine design and the visual arts, including architecture, fashion design, interior design, photography, and consumer product design.
With fundraising efforts bolstered by strategic partnerships and unique events showcasing innovation and creativity, DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities and granted over $38 million to hundreds of AIDS service organizations nationwide.
Since being founded in 1984 by Patricia Green and Larry Pond, DIFFA has granted funds to organizations that fight AIDS by providing:
- preventive education programs targeted to populations at risk of infection
- treatment and direct-care services for people living with HIV/AIDS
- public policy initiatives which add resources to private sector efforts
Patricia Green continues to be active with DIFFA as an ex officio member of the DIFFA Board of Trustees. Larry Pond died of AIDS in October 1992.

Table Hop & Taste featured exquisite wine from provided by Sip Castello di Gabbiano and delicious gourmet food from New York’s top restaurants. We also caught up with more designers, including Brad Ford and some very talented Parsons students.
Parsons The New School for Design with Mentor Vicente Wolf. The students told me they were inspired by Benjamin Moore(who sponsored the design) and each robot took up to 30 minutes to create. Hard work paid off! Incredible and intricate display.
Garnering a lot of attention, was Brad Ford‘s “Change is Good” table. His creation featured all types of vintage Piggy banks, courtesy of his family friends and Ebay. Our favorite part of the design was the actual piggy bank feature where guest could donate money of funds. For more details, please visit Brad Ford‘s blog Design Therapy.
Brad told us through the generosity of his family and friends, he started out with more than $1,000 in donations. Change is Good!!
New York University with Mentor Miles Redd design featured vibrant colors and a digital fireplace.
HP created this one of a kind Asian inspired design.
Benjamin Moore, Designed by David Stark. Another one of our favorites which featured a huge paint can with a table inside and splashes of color.
