Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford and DIFFA Executive Director David Sheppard
DIFFA‘s Dining By Design 5 day fete concluded with the glamorous Gala Dinner, hosted by Supermodel turned designer, Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber. The annual gala consisted of a silent auction, a seated dinner at one of many tables, dancing, and much more. As we mentioned before, DIFFA has granted over $38 million to hundreds of AIDS service organizations nationwide and is one of the largest supporters of direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk. “During these trying and volatile economic times, it is more important than ever for all of us to rally around DIFFA.” says David Rockwell, who is the chairperson for DIFFA Board of Trustees. Dining By Design will be in Kansas City, Chicago, and San Francisco in the coming months. Please show your support and visit the events calender here for more information.
During the dinner, we had the pleasure of being seated at the MMPI table (see below), which was designed by Poggenpohl & Harry J. Daniell.

We spoke with Daniell about the design and his company.
Oliver Cheng provided the delicious dinner. We started with a salad of bitter greens with roasted heirloom squash, hazelnut and warm polenta croutons.
The main course was a well-seasoned wild striped bass en papollote with confit of baby carrots, leeks and fingerlings with truffle butter sauce
For dessert, it was simply heaven! cupcakes, macaroons, and pies…OH MY!
The silent auction was a success, nearly selling out of every item.
