Diet soft drinks and creative directors often walk hand in hand for New York Fashion Week. For 2012 Barney’s creative director Simon Doonan and Pepsi took their partnership tot he next level and spawned a fashion event like none other. Together the pop giant and fashion guru presented the debut collections of 4 emerging designers from the four regions of the United States. The designers, Denver, Colorado’s Rachel Hurst of Rae Marie; Genoveva Christoff from Columbus, OH and Elise Bergman of Chicago, IL and Project Runway” alum and Dallas-based Shirin Askari, were granted the opportunity of a lifetime as they presented capsule collections during NYC’s 2012 Fashion week a few short weeks ago. The designs ranged from casual sportswear to full on evening wear.
We loved this floor length ruffled bodice gown. The asymmetrical style and neutral color would work well with a bold earrings and colorful pumps, or understated with simple studs and a matching shoe.
The color combinations on this ensemble is fresh and youthful. the pop of yellow looks great against the monochrome stripe.
A great jacket is a must have for the fall and we love this take on the motorcycle jacket.
Though it may not have graced the runway we adored this statement necklace on Angela Simmons
The marriage between Doonan and Pepsi generated a buzz and excitement for season’s to come. From this union several designers received their big break and many more the inspiration and faith that one day their day will come.
