Diesel, a name more commonly associated with denim, in conjunction with Skyy Vodka, a name associated with… well Vodka, debuted its 2012 swimwear line last Thursday at the Raleigh Hotel during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2012.Models strutted down the runway in suits in an array of bright colors some embellished with graphics and some with buckles. Quite intriguing were the denim graphic swimsuits; fitting for a company known for denim though not actually made of denim.
The highlight of the collection were the four Skyy Vodka inspired suits comprised of two men’s suits and two women’s suits. The men’s suits: a white brief trunk with the Skyy logo printed on the back and a blue board short with the Skyy logo on the bottom of the left leg. The two women’s suits: a blue one shoulder two-piece with the Skyy logo printed on the top and coincidentally my favorite suit in the collection a blue one-piece cutout adorned with shards of Skyy Vodka bottle blue glass worn by The Hills reality star and Jay Cutler’s fiance Kristin Cavallari.
The show closed with the models holding Diesel flags during the final walk.
