Diesel Black Gold’s Andreas Melbostad presented a space age collection during New York Fashion Week. The designer offered up to the fashion savvy a set of looks that evoke images of flying saucers and star fleet uniforms. The collection as a whole kept a monochromatic theme with touches of shine and the occasional metallic silver. The overall silhouette of the Fall 2014 collection is sleek and sharp offering brilliant tailoring and a flattering cut. In addition to the monochrome mirrored embellishment added a hint of whimsy as the light bounced and danced along the garments.
One of our favorite looks for the collection was this moto jacket with mirrored panels. After two seasons of maxi length everything we look forward to the short skirts heading our way next fall.
After this dreadful winter it was great to see a designer offer a thick lush lining to beat the bitter cold. The shearling is the perfect marriage between luxury and utility.
Two words: Metallic Jeans. How can you go wrong when this look is oh so right. Though metallic head to toe is a tough look to pull off, it looks effortless and sexy here.
Though the bulk of the collection was black, Diesel does offer a few pieces in a soft winter white.
