We were invited to the Diesel Black Gold Fall 2011 fashion show season, which was held at Pier 94. Diesel’s Sophia Kokosalaki did not want to go minimal this season just because everyone else is. She feels we can still dress in a casual way and dress up. In the audience we saw the likes of Chase Crawford, Vanessa Hudgens and Wyclef Jean among others.Inspiration from the uniforms of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the kind someone from the English Empire might have worn was seen throughout the collection. Victorian style booties, silk blouses buttoned to the neck, corset bustiers, brocade prints, snakeskin and leather pants skinny and flared and leather dresses and tops. Cavalry inspired riding pant in denim for guys, quite cool. Wool coats, military inspired blazers for the guys, motorcycle jackets and python-printed leather pants. Oxford and denim shirts, all in bold hues of maroon, olive green, navy, rust and neutrals great for the fall.
Diesel Black Gold Fall 2011 is a great mix of militarism with a bit of rock’n’roll the way Diesel only knows how. Trendy wearable clothes for both men and women.
