Held at the lovely Juliet Supper Club, the event was attended by bloggers, industry insiders as well as the new global ambassador Bria Murphy, who made a small speech at the event. Bria was joined at the podium by the lovely Nia Long who was also a spokeswoman for the brand. When asked about her new affiliation with the Softsheen Carson brand Bria says, “I grew up using Dark and Lovely products and I am so proud to be part of a brand that celebrates the diversity of African American women and inspires them to be self-confident, glamorous and fun.”
In addition to the star power of Nia and Bria, guests mingled with the likes of Eddie Murphy, Bria’s proud papa, as well as model Tyson Beckford, Hair Stylist Oscar James, Basketball Wives’ Jennifer Williams, and a host of others who lent their support to the event.
Guests of the event were treated to giftbags stuffed with products from the new Healthy gloss line. The products include:
Healthy-Gloss 5 Relaxer and Maintenance System includes the Healthy-Gloss 5 Relaxer (Regular, Super and Color-Treated),
Healthy-Gloss 5 Moisture Shampoo, Healthy-Gloss 5 Moisture Conditioner,
Healthy-Gloss 5 Moisture Leave-in-Treatment
Healthy-Gloss 5 Moisture Hair Crème,
These items will be available nationwide beginning February 2011.
The line was developed to promote healthy hair for individuals who rely on relaxers and other chemical treatments. On hand was celebrity hairstylist Johnny Wright who explained the benefits of the new shea butter enriched formula (I can’t wait to try it!). All in all a fab event filled with great looking people, good music (courtesy of DJ Kiss) and most importantly a great new product.
