All lined up on the patio of the Thompson Les Patio in NYC, the models displayed Clarence Ruth’s Cotte d’Armes Spring 2013 Collection lineup. If you are a denim and t’s connoisseur, shop no further. T-shirt colors consisted of muted tones of bone and heather grey, as well as white, navy, dark grey and black. Light weight, they can be worn on their own or layered with another t or even with a studded denim jacket from the collection.
Por homme styles included short sleeve t’s layered over long sleeve t’s paired with distressed shorts layered over black leggings. The black drop crotch sweat pants are stylish, as well as comfortable. In the jean selection, the show stoppers por homme were the midnight blue zipper biker jeans. Skinny leg, lighter denim inserts at the thighs, and great stitching details around the knees, not to mention a superb fit.
Por femme Cotte d’Armes features raw bleach drop crotch jeans, an easy going look when worn with the black drape tank with a button down back. The tank style Ann dress in heather grey looks fresh, with a shorter hemline above the knee in the front, longer in the back. It’s black chest pocket is fun and the dress makes as a stand alone piece with sandals, or perfect for layering with a long T and leggings. If you love the worn and faded look, there were plenty of bleach spot patterns, including one called a “bleach paint” jean where the spots have taken on a pinkish hue. Don’t forget cut off distressed black denim shorts, leather biker pants, and of course the raw bleach drop crotch denim shorts.
A fun, fresh, yet modern Spring 2013 Collection – if only we New Yorker’s could wear it barefoot like the models.
