Last week, for the first time, I stopped by Hidden Lane, located in the Gramercy area of New York City. I was very excited to check out this hidden gem. On the evening of my visit, Hidden Lane hosted an intimate Winter Cocktail Soiree. Fitting and much needed for such a chilly evening. Although Hidden Lane is known for serving up specialty cocktails, on this night guests got to indulge in pizza and meatless meatballs from Zazzy’s Pizza in addition to chocolate-covered doughnuts and cookies from Innocent Yesterday on the Upper East Side. The pepperoni pizza was my favorite by the way.
The craft cocktails at Hidden Lane are to die for. One of my favorites was the bourbon drink called The Quilt. The Quilt is a mixture of date-infused bourbon, sweet vermouth, apple cider, and cinnamon. Others include The Antidote made with Bombay Gin, Lillet, Elderflower, and lemon, The Junglebird with Plantation Dark Rum, pineapple, Campari and lime, a Spice Girls spicy margarita in addition to an addictive Espresso Martini made with Cognac. Be sure to check out their Shots selections while you’re there. A group of us sampled the PB + Lejay shot which has peanut butter whiskey and Lejay Liquor. It was quite tasty.
The bar also has a fabulous Monday – Friday, 5pm – 8pm happy hour with $8 margaritas, as well as a Beer & Shot combination for $8. Guests can also enjoy $2 off all draft beers as well as $2 off mixed drinks and cocktails.
Hidden Lane is open 7 nights a week. The bi-level bar and lounge located at 129 E. 15th Street were converted from a townhouse into an intimate bar complete with a hidden garden outside. It’s a cute homely spot to hang with friends or after-dinner cocktails. Cheers!
