Human beings have many ways to communicate with each other. Thanks to social media we can communicate with people all over the world day and night. One of the most prevalent ways to convey a message is with nonverbal communication. The use of gestures and images are often employed to make a statement or share an idea. Pepsi celebrates the fascinating world of nonverbal communication with a new interactive exhibit. We attended the opening night activities and were treated to an endless evening of visual stimulation and of course ice cold Pepsi. Opening night was a rousing success with celebrity sightings that included the evening’s host Maggie Gyllenhaal, supermodel Chanel Iman, and soulful duo Lion Babe who put their DJ skills to good use.
The exhibit is entitled “Love: From Cave to Keyboard, Imagined by Pepsi” and chronicles a brief history of nonverbal communication with interactive displays. During the opening night festivities, guests were invited to be among the first to experience the interactive content. The pieces of the exhibit cover a wide spectrum of mediums from silent film to smoke signals. One of the most interesting of the displays is a virtual reality helmet that transports you to the inside of an ancient cave to marvel at the etchings and caveman drawings. We also enjoyed the modern photobooth which allowed us to replace our own faces with familiar emojis as a keepsake. Opening night may have been an invite only affair but this weekend the exhibit is open to the public. You can visit the exhibit free of charge by heading over to 433 Broadway from 10am until 6pm. Though nonverbal communication will be around forever this experience is only in town for two days. So grab an Ice cold Pepsi a few good people and spread the love.
