SPIN, The OG Ping Pong Social Club threw an all-out epic 10-year anniversary party on Friday, September 27, 2019, at the SPIN 23 location. Guests including a slew of family and friends, including Co-Founders Franck Raharinosy and Jonathan Bricklin, tastemakers Soo Yeon Lee, Rameet Chawla, Zachary Weiss, Nina Lakhani, Gita Woosley, Diego Leon, and Judah Friedlander. On the 1s and 2s, was New York’s own Funk Flex, who literally had everyone at one point on the dance floor until he left the building.
The house party themed fete included throwback elements like classic video gaming powered by Nintendo, alongside nostalgic games like oversized PLINKO, old-school Pong while breakdancers outfitted in a custom collaboration with tennis brand, BOAST danced in a private area in the 23rd street subway, only visible from the party. They later brought their talents inside the party to show off their movies, up close and personal. Artist Gabriel D’Elia used SPIN tote bags as a canvas for custom pieces.
Inside guests received welcomed drinks like the “Natty Lights” and “Naturdays” by Natural Light along with signature cocktails, “The Dirty Dozen” and our favorite, “The Tribeca Loft”. Guests also noshed on a plethora of delicious SPIN signature foods, including the debut of the pizza delivery service. Shake Shack was also around to make sure guests were nice and full with their classic burgers.
Before we tapped out of the party, Co-Founders Andrew Gordon, Franck Raharinosy and Jonathan Bricklin reminisced about how far the brand has come in a decade since hosting ping pong tournaments in their Tribeca loft in 2007. SPIN is currently celebrating the milestone of 10 locations in just 10 years (including their new Boston location) along with the preview of their new recurring programming of House Party Saturdays’ which will launch across all of their US locations next month.
It was indeed a magical evening in New York City. Cheers to 10 more years and beyond! For more information on SPIN, head over to wearespin.com.
