Fine Dining and Exquisite Taste

South Village Hospitality, the brains behind Ainslie Brooklyn, Cotta, Follia, and Carroll Place, just opened a Manhattan Ainslie this month. The 20,000-square-foot Italian restaurant, wine bar, and beer garden took over the space formerly occupied by Vandal at 199 Bowery on the Lower East Side.

Last week the French honored Bastille Day, an annual day of reverence for the storming of the Bastille, a major battle of the French revolution that united the people of France. To honor the day we headed to the east side to enjoy an evening of gourmet cuisine at La Brasserie. Formerly known as Brasserie Les Halles, the dimly lit space is fashioned after the old French Brasseries which were casual dining spaces serving hearty foods rather quickly.

El Turco Arrives In East Hampton

by xoJohn

The Hamptons are set to get an exquisite culinary experience with the opening of the restaurant El Turco. El Turco East Hampton is the result of a casual meeting between one of El Turco’s founders and Frank Cilione, the longtime operator of the dual restaurant and nightlife venue on Three Mile Harbor Road in East Hampton. Soon thereafter, Mr. Cilione hired the original El Turco founders Nurdan Gur Yuzbasioglu, Gokhan Yuzbasioglu along with developer and visionary Cagri Kanver to assist in realizing their collective vision. With that being said, expect delectable dishes. Created with high-quality meats, fine imported spices, and local seasonal ingredients, each dish on the menu is based on reimaged classic Turkish recipes by the culinary team led by Mr. Yuzbasioglu and talented Executive Chef Guney. Many dishes originate from the Aegean and Anatolian parts of Turkey, as well as special selections from the Mediterranean and South-Eastern region.

Made in New York Pizza Opens in the West Village

by xoJohn

The pizza in New York City is arguably some of the best in the world. When given the opportunity to attend a grand opening of the big apple’s latest pizza spot, we couldn’t resist. I headed down to the West Village to celebrate Made in New York Pizza‘s second location. The first is location is on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, this new spot is on Hudson Street between Perry and West 11 streets. The new location features a robust menu of pizzas in both traditional square pies and by the slice along with an impressive art collection of murals, NFTs, and graffiti art that celebrate NYC. It is owned and operated by restaurateur Eytan Sugarman in partnership with Chef Lou Tomczak formerly of Emmy Squared. Sugarman’s partners in the project include Gary Vaynerchuk, Guy Oseary, Ryan Tedder, and DJ Clue.
