Best Dish: The grilled shrimp was delicious, the tuna tartar was fabulous but the sushi was absolute heaven. The Fortissimo specialty roll contained surprising herbaceous notes of basil and an equally surprising touch of parmesan.
Overall: A quaint chic space more than worthy of a romantic date night or a fun meal with your foodie friends.
Memorial day weekend is the perfect excuse to dust off that sexy outfit and head out for a night on the town. The weather is just right for a moonlit rendezvous at one of New York City’s trendiest nightspots. Though there are many to choose from we recommend Monarch. This rooftop and indoor lounge are located on the 18th floor of the Marriot Courtyard, Herald Square. The location is right in the heart of midtown and offers a great view of the city below. We visited the lounge earlier this week for a quick bite and libations. Having been to Monarch before we were excited to see the new seasonal menu items.

This would be great news for the breakfast aficionados, who never miss a chance to enjoy their favorite meal. For the breakfast lovers – and everyone who enjoys great food – the Village Voice hosted, for the first time, a special food event with the codename Brunch Eats breakfast-for-dinner. The event took place on May 11th, at the top of The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s Flight Deck.
Carrageenan: When food science makes things better
The food industry changes constantly and new studies reveal what is safe – or not – for our daily diets. And many times food science is responsible for these changes. By using food science we can meet the increased need for basic products like milk or juice. And that need was created by the world’s growing population. In other words, without food science, many people would not have access to food and thousands of products wouldn’t exist.
Sunday afternoon we celebrated Harlem’s culinary diversity at Harlem EatUp! Festival, a five-day food festival. Harlem EatUp! Festival, was created by world-renowned chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson and event marketer Herb Karlitz. The duo put their heads together and came up with a concept that showcases the unique foodie scene and all of the fabulous artists Harlem has to offer. The festivities began on Wednesday, May 18th with a series of chef-hosted dinners entitled “Dine in Harlem”.
We’ve enjoyed The Laughing Cow Spreadable cheese for years. The spreadable cheese wedges are a familiar snack usually enjoyed with crackers and fruit. This year the good people of The Laughing Cow have come with a fun new way to enjoy the flavors of their delectable smooth cheeses. We spent a fun afternoon at New York City’s Trapeze School to celebrate the launch of Cheese Dippers from the delicious brand. Cheese Dippers are a new portable snack of Laughing Cow Cheese and breadsticks. The convenient little snack is designed to be eaten on the go, you can take them anywhere. This portable snack is an excellent source of calcium and each serving delivers 4 grams of protein.

Best Dish: We truly enjoyed the pizza it was savory cheesy and crispy, but the favorite dish of the evening were the lamb chops. The pieces of lamb were well seasoned and melt in your mouth tender.
