Film Review: Love, Simon

Simon Spier is an average, teenager with good friends, a loving family, and one big secret, he’s gay. Unbeknownst to his family and friends his secret is a massive burden, threatening to crush him. His burden gets a little easier to bear when he begins an email love affair with an anonymous classmate. This budding romance gives Simon a courage he never knew he had. Just as things start to heat up, tragedy strikes. A classmate discovers their secret emails and threatens to expose the affair. Burdened with a big secret and now blackmailed because of it, Simon must decide whether it is easier to be imprisoned by his hidden love or to be freed by his truth and accept all the changes it brings.

“Love, Gilda” Will Open The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, will open its 17th edition with the world premiere of LOVE, GILDA on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. CNN Films presents the feature-length documentary – produced by 3 Faces Films in association with Motto Pictures – which opens a window into the world of celebrated Emmy® and Grammy® award-winning comedian Gilda Radner who became a cultural icon the moment audiences first laughed with her on Saturday Night Live’s debut episode. A trailblazer for female comedians, her impact on the entertainment industry has endured almost four decades.

Yesterday, Datari Turner Productions premiered its sixth film at Sundance: A Boy. A Girl. A Dream: Love On Election Night. Attending from the film were stars Omari Hardwick, Meagan Good, Jay Ellis, and Dijon Talton; director Qasim Basir; writer Samantha Turner and producer Datari Turner. The film debuted in the NEXT category, a class of films at the festival that takes an “innovative, forward-thinking approach to storytelling.” The sold-out screening at Park City Library earned a standing ovation and plenty of buzz, capping off a whirlwind weekend of various press interviews, photo shoots, and events.

Film Review: Den of Thieves

Plot: A band of outlaws plans the heist of the century, robbing the Federal Reserve. Their carefully laid plans are soon discovered by a militant group of specialists within the LA County Sheriff’s department.  This dangerous squad of law enforcement agents makes it their sole mission to find and destroy the outlaws once and for all. With the law on their tail and millions at stake will the outlaws pull off their final heist or will they be engulfed by the long arm of the law.

Hercule Poirot is one of the most sought-after detectives in the world.  Whilst on a much-needed break he finds himself being rushed back to Europe to solve a case. At the insistence of an old friend, he books passage aboard the Orient Express for what should be three days of first-class accommodations and relaxation. On the second evening, the train derails and one of the passengers is brutally murdered. This fateful interruption to Poirot’s peace thrusts him into a complex case which he must solve before the next stop.
