Case-Mate held its “ShowCASE” event to kick off their “Right Case. Right Occasion” campaign at the Best Buy Theater in New York yesterday. The event was a colorful collaboration of music, fashion, and technology. Case-Mate live-streamed the event via its website, the livestream was hosted by Quddus.
Case-Mate’s “ShowCASE” kicked off with an inspiring mix from DJ Mia Moretti. She kept the crowd moving with hits from both the past and the present. After an hour of spinning by DJ Moretti, those in attendance were treated to a preview of Czar by Cesar Galindo. Fergie came on the stage and started her duties as the event’s co-host by prepping the crowd for the preview.
Once the show started different parts of the venue were highlighted and models appeared from a variety of locations. Within the show, the models interacted with one another in various scenes. The scenes included a gym, an office, and a men’s & women’s walk-in closet. The different scenes were used as focal points where both the pieces from the spring collection of Czar and Case-Mate cell phone cases were on display. The Case-Mate cell phone cases were used as accessories and like their slogan states each model had the “right case” for the “right occasion”.
As the preview concluded the anticipation for the next person to perform was palpable. Fergie made her way back on the stage and took a moment to introduce the next act. Without further ado, Common hit the stage with commanding energy that has become synonymous with whenever he picks up a microphone. He performed verses from hits such as “Light”, “I Used to Love Her”, and “Go” to name a few. He also did an impromptu freestyle over the Biggie Smalls “Who Shot Ya” beat. Common ended his freestyle and the evening by lyrically showing his support for the current president of the United State with a “this year you’ll better vote for Obama”.
The night ended with a thunderous round of applause and the Case-Mate “ShowCASE” event was truly a showcase in more ways than one.
