On
Immediately upon entering the Pier, I was led backstage where I got to observe preparations for the show. Expecting nothing less than chaos, I was pleasantly surprised the mood was light and fun. In between hair and makeup I spied models reading, some being interviewed and others and trying to stay warm. As I noticed the models stripping down to get dressed for first looks, I quickly made my way to my seat.
I took my seat in the tent on the Pier where the darkness and the frost from my breath only added to the ambiance of what I was about to experience.
The collection, rooted in 1930s nostalgia, layered classic fabrics and patterns in a modern way.
Tweed jackets, suede jackets, three piece suits, cable knit sweaters and turtlenecks were mixed and matched and accessorized with oversized scarfs, leather gloves, aviator sunglasses, overcoats and travel bags. Though Rojo went with traditional fall for the color palette, each look was styled so well it defined chic.
Every single piece of this collection was gorgeous. Bravo.
