How do you normally start your day? For me, it all depends on the day. For instance, Mondays I may roll out of bed a little upset because the reality of the weekend being over sets in. Luckily I have my favorite quote as a pick me up. The most exciting part about blogging is the fact that we can bring you content from pretty much anywhere in the world. In recent weeks, I found myself drafting up articles via my smartphone while riding the subway. It’s not the most ideal setting but in order to distract me from the constant hustle and bustle of New York City commuters, it works.
When I’m not subway blogging (lol), my mobile office and I frequent a nearby coffee shop or when the weather permits, a mini picnic in the park. For the past few weeks, I have been blogging from the smartwater up up up lounge, located in the Gramercy district of Manhattan. It’s not your traditional office setting, which I love. It truly is a lounge meant for comfort and relaxation. I felt right at home during each visit. The space boasts a homey modern decor, plush furniture, an ample amount of outlets, excellent Wi-Fi, a photo booth and, of course, smartwater to quench your thirst.
At a recent lunch and learn, world renowned artist Richard Clarkson explained his inspiration behind the lounge, including one of my favorite elements, the clouds. Clarkson envisioned an indoor thunderstorm, which he flawlessly executed with bundles of cotton and lights. I might incorporate this idea into one of my own gatherings. Overall, I’ve learned to appreciate my non-traditional work environment even more. Whether you’re sitting at a desk or on the go like me, your workspace should have some sort of comfort to keep you motivated throughout the day.
