The inspiration behind the collection was Diego Binetti’s idea of what the Binetti woman encompasses – style, elegance, sophistication and most of all, power. Much of the looks featured a mixture of prints and fabrics, with sequins either used as an embellishment or encrusting the entire look. Models, who looked like glamazons, posing in a circle facing the spectators, lounging on vintage-inspired couches and chairs. Interestingly, all the models wore headbands and headwraps to create a united facial look – perhaps to really emphasize the details of each look in the collection.
Much of the collection featured flowing gowns with a black and white palette – with details such as an animal print-style fringe, ostrich feathers, or sequined flowers that made each look different and unique. Binetti also showcased his talent for draping and selection of rich textures to pull together looks that further defined nighttime glamour, with a hint of escapism.
Binetti’s exquisite attention to detail was one of the underlying factors that made his collection impeccably designed. Each of his look featured intricate embellishments – whether it was on the clothing or on the accessories like the jewelry, handbags and shoes. Many of the shoes were covered in multi-colored crystal gems to make some of the looks “pop.” Keeping in with the glamazon zoo theme, one favorite item of the show was a black handbag that was creatively shaped like a goat horn. Finally, the main highlight of detail were some of the rings, which were designed with dramatic, sleek quill feathers that were displayed on perfectly vampy manicured nails – which were done by CND nail artist Kristina Estabrooks.
