The Chelsea Art Museum set the back drop for Bar III’s Spring/Summer presentation. Well-dressed models milled about the event posing for the cameras, showing off the latest offerings by the contemporary brand. The look was decidedly muted as maxi dresses and preppy suiting dominated the collection. Most of the collection was a study in soft neutrals, with brief appearances of bright colors aqua and orange. With only a year under its belt, Macy’s private label has provided young adults with options that reach far beyond the usual jeans and sneakers.
One of our favorite pieces was this one-shoulder belted maxi dress. Whether sun-kissed or naturally brown, The soft sea-foam green looks amazing against bronze skin tones. The this colorful belt creates a waist defining flattering silhouette.
The menswear pieces were modern updates of classic looks. We adored the cut of this warm grey suit, the varying shades of grey work well together, but the real attention grabber was the chic gold metallic loafers. Ordinarily metallic foot wear is a major fashion faux pas for men but here it looks trendy and fun.
Accessories are always a major component to any look. They can tie a look together or ruin it completely. This oversized scorpion ring and chunky bracelet are great statement pieces for the simplistic styles of spring and summer.
Bar III’s look is clean and classic with just enough edge to maintain relevancy in the fast-paced fashion world. The flattering shapes and outstanding accessories provide and endless assortment of ensembles. You can find the looks shown here and many more at your local Macy’s department store or www.Macys.com
