The Ann Taylor Flagship store on NYC’s notorious Madison Ave was the place to be this past week to take in the sparkly expertly tailored Ann Taylor Holiday collection. Attendees enjoyed bottomless flutes of sparkling wine and munched on tasty food while perusing the holiday offering. The flagship’s lower level was transformed into a winter wonderland of sorts candles and lights flooded the mantelpiece and adorned the accessories stations. The soundtrack for this event cane in the form of Brooklyn Based singer/songwriter Alexa Wilding who performed live throughout the course of the evening. Her angelic voice and calming melodies were in tune with the ambiance and over all mood of the collection.
A mostly muted palette and a wide range of textures and silhouettes made for a beautiful collection of instantly wearable pieces. Creative Director Lisa Axelson was all aglow as she showed off her wares to Elle editor Robbie Meyers. We spotted the two at the event and were delighted when they graciously allowed us to snag a quick photo. Lisa was all smiles as she walked through the throng of attendees, showing the line. Her pride in the collection is well deserved. We fell in love with the color palette as well as the many beautiful fabrics. One of our favorite looks was the gold metallic lace skirt paired with the gilded trim cardigan. An easy and sophisticated combination of tactile pieces. We were floored by the Water rose strapless cocktail dress. A beautiful red floral print and flattering ruching detail make this a stunner for any holiday party.
Aside from the star collection, there was a multitude of adorable accessories to accompany each look. Sparkling ribbon adorned necklaces and glittering bracelets were scattered about the collection.
Good food, bottomless champagne flutes, and good company are surefire ingredients for a wonderful evening. Add a dash of fashion and simply call it heaven. This event has us looking forward to the holidays even more so this year if that means we get to sparkle and shine as this beautiful collection surely does.

I am glad that the “Ann Taylor” I fell in love with 11yrs ago is back. Since 1999 I have been a faithful and loyal customer. Something went wrong during the summer/fall of 2007; the quality and style drastically took a change that forced me to stop shopping with you guys for a moment. But in 2008 things begin to turn around and thank goodness 2009-2010, I can say with great pleasure that the AT I fell in love with is back. The classic, chic, timeless, fashionable high quality AT is back. I take my hat off to your new team of stylist and experts, it is apparent someone has done their homework. I am a 42yo nurse who likes to look good and be comfortable . Thank you again and by the way this fall line is GREAT.
