Waterford is an iconic brand noted for its fine china, stemware and barware. Over the years its name has become synonymous with fine dining and beautiful gifts. After more than a century of creating luxurious dining experiences and lovely crystal pieces for the home, the brand has set its sights on interior decorating. Waterford Interiors is the newest venture and was presented NYC’s elite last Thursday. The evening began with an illuminating elevator ride beneath a ceiling of sparkling prisms. The decadence of the crystal installation shone beautifully amid the open elevator shaft, and exposed brick. The industrial doors opened onto a spacious gallery featuring several vignettes, a magnificent installation of hanging chandeliers and a champagne tower featuring 500 crystal coupes. Attendees enjoyed complimentary beverages served in waterford crystal glasses, and passing appetizers whilst enjoying the sounds of DJ sets by Glamour’s Rajni Jacques and Naag.com’s Chris Bletzer.
In addition to editors, executives and well wishers, several celebrities came out to celebrate the launch. Fashion Icon Fern Mallis, as well as actress Julianne Moore were sighted mingling and enjoying the festivities. The night marked not only the start of a new line but an affirmation of the brand’s commitment to luxury and fine dining. With so many of us relying on disposable glass ware and styrofoam plates, Waterford offers an alternative that can be passed down generation to generation, a legacy of fine craftsmanship and decadence. The latest line from the brand will extend its reach from the dining room into the living room and bed room with lighting fixtures, tables and intricately framed mirrors. The extensive project is a collaboration with designers, Jo Sampson, John Rocha and Billy Cunning. The designers combined their decades of experience into a magnificent collection of modern pieces with traditional charm. The Waterford Interiors collection and portfolio will be available for the Spring with an official launch in April 2012. Until then feel free to shop the holiday items available at fine department stores nationwide.
