As I climb to the top floor of the Chelsea Art Museum to Yuna Yang’s show, I am enticed with assorted balloons and a jazz trio whose notes bounce from the hardwood floors to the lofted ceiling.

Black Wedding Dress (center)
The title “My Black Wedding Dress” reflects her struggle between traditional femininity and luxury. Ms. Yang explains, “Luxury both fuels and entraps dreams in material goods.” A black wedding dress contradicts traditional expectations and gives birth to a redesign.
