Review: IL Gattopardo

by Desha Winborne

Location: 13-15 West 54th Street (Between 5th & 6th Ave), New York, NY 10019

Cuisine: Italian

Best Dish:  The meatloaf was superb. The thick slice was meaty and well seasoned topped with a delectable tomato sauce. If you prefer something lighter we recommend the Cod “in casseroule” it is moist and delicious and the vegetables make it hearty and surprisingly filling entree.

Price: $$$

Overall: Italian comfort food in an elegant atmosphere.

Overall: Mezcaleria La Milagrosa is a modern speakeasy, with top shelf Mexican spirits and a warm inviting presence. Feel free to bring your out of town guests for an impressive evening of cocktails or your significant other for an exclusive nightcap.

Review: Kurry Qulture

by Desha Winborne

Location: 36-05 30th Avenue

Cuisine: Indian

Best Dish: The olive garlic naan was sensational but the Bhuna Goat was the star. The meat was fork tender smothered in the sauce for a luxurious mouth feel. If you don’t do goat you may want to reconsider, or just go with the Goan Shrimp. The shrimp were just as tasty.

Price: $$

Overall: A casual but trendy space for your next foodie adventure. Kurry Qulture is the space to expose a novice to the flavors of India. The food is straightforward and some dishes can be customized to your spice tolerance. A great advantage when exploring new things. Most importantly it is the best in the boro, why not start at the top?

Review: Magnolia Restaurant

by xoJohn

Location: 350 West 40th Street

Cuisine: American

Price: $$$

Best Dish: We have two words for you: Ox Cheeks. If you’ve never experienced this cut of meat you are in for a rare treat. The meat is tender and dissolves on impact, a true carnivore’s dream. Kudos to Executive Chef Alan Wise.

Overall: A spacious inviting space with great food and fantastic service.
