Summer is the time to leave the four walls of your apartment behind and get out into the fresh air. Many bars around the city offer outdoor options but not all are created equal. Below are some of our favorite spaces around the city that allow you to enjoy the sunshine.

The Bronx Brewery
I find myself in the Bronx more and more these days! My gym Grit City NYC, lunches at Mottley Kitchen, Yankee Games and The Bronx Brewery. The Bronx Brewery is spacious with its brewery, taproom & backyard space. While it has recently expanded around the city, their OG spot is in the Port Morris Neighborhood of the Bronx. The owners believe in beer’s power to build community and they strive to bring people together, while celebrating the rich and diverse creative scene in their home borough through vibrant culture that uses beer, art, food, and music to inspire. Fat Ham is a comedic adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tale of revenge “Hamlet.” In this wildly creative version, The Prince of Denmark is presented as “Juicy” a queer college student living at home with his mother and uncle aka his new stepfather. The story is set at a backyard barbecue in celebration of the newlyweds. Juicy is setting up a wedding celebration even as the wreath

Restaurant Review: Sweet Catch Brooklyn

by xoJohn

Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn has a new gem everyone should check out. It’s called Sweet Catch and it brings the flavors of the Carolinas to New York City. The new hot spot is the brainchild of Ka-Wana Jefferson, a Bronx native, who has a passion for good culinary experiences. I stopped by on a beautiful Saturday morning for Brunch and was immediately captivated by the serene environment as you opened the doors. The space is decorated with a southern style decor and hosts many photos which showcase black culinary history and Heritage.
