Clinton Hall 36 Opens

by xoJohn

Our friends at The Lure Group have opened another Clinton Hall location in Midtown. The 7,000 square foot venue spans two floors and has a capacity for 450 guests, making it their largest location to date. I personally loved the lounge-style vibe of the new location. As you first enter, you can’t help but notice massive floor to ceiling mural by artist Tristan Eaton. There’s also the ability to play a Word Search game on one of the walls in the venue or a giant game of upright Chess. Like their other locations, Clinton Hall 36 has all of your favorite games like Oversized Uno, Giant Jenga, Connect 4 and other nostalgic classics.

Slate NY Gets An Upgrade

by xoJohn

Since 2000, Slate NY has been the go-to hot spot in the heart of Chelsea. It seems like every time I walk by, there is always a line of young partygoers eager to get inside. I’ve happened upon Slate a few times in recent years and had a good time. I was eager to see the new digs when I heard they were undergoing a $2 million dollar renovation. I would describe the new and improved Slate as an adult playground. The 16,000 square foot venue now has multiple private rooms, three bowling lanes, a karaoke room, a BYOB (Be Your Own Bartender) pouring station with 20 adult beverages on tap, and a 20-foot slide to get partygoers from the top floor to ground below without having to lift a foot.

Review: Brine Chicken

by Desha Winborne

Location: 106 8th Ave. New York, NY 10011

Cuisine: American

Best Dish: The chicken is superb. The sides are tasty but the chicken is the star of the show. It is juicy well seasoned and worth every minute of its 24-hour brine.

Cost: $$

Overall:  An easy choice for a delicious and healthful meal, that is quick but sophisticated.

Location: 409 3rd Avenue, New York, NY b/w 28 th & 29 th Street

Cuisine: Indian (Vegetarian)

Best Dish: The puri and the cardamom ice cream are tied for our favorite items. The bread was warm and fresh with a light buttery melt in your mouth texture. The ice cream was only slightly sweet with a smooth creaminess that must be experienced.

Cost: $$

Overall: A quaint and comforting vegetarian restaurant with flavorful options and exemplary service.
