When a man complains about not having quality clothing options that transition from day to night, or convert from casual to upscale, please refer him to Robert James fall/winter ’16.

The cool new collection – drenched in black – kept it refined with a mix of double-breasted suits, strong outerwear, and a few pieces meant for a red carpet appearance.

#NYFWM: Joseph Abboud Fall/Winter 2016 Collection

by xoJohn

Joseph Abboud’s Fall / Winter 2016 collection is a tribute to America’s rich sartorial heritage that intricately mingles the tradition of fine tailoring with irreverence, intelligence, and innovation, reminiscent of 1960’s Savile Row and the peacock revolution that took the United States by storm.

by xoJohn

The collection will drop November 5 at select H&M locations and H&M’s online store. The collection stays true to the Balmain name with embroidery and tailored fits. Sleek blazers, hoodies, leather jackets, and more make up the menswear pieces.

Balmain x H&M Collection (12)

“This Balmain collection for H&M is everything I love about menswear. It is sharp, rich in detail and full of effortless attitude. It’s for all the men in the H&M Balmain Nation, no matter who they are or where they are from.” -Olivier Rousteing

GANT was founded by Ukranian immigrant Bernard Gantmache and his sons in 1949. It all started as a family business built around a simple well constructed shirt and has since grown into a major fashion brand. The house of GANT is divided in three distinct sub-brands: GANT Originals, GANT Rugger and GANT Diamond G. All three brands were represented at New York Fashion Week via an eye opening presentation. The inspiration was classic preppy style with a modern edge.

In the Edmund Ooi collection for New York Fashion Week: Men’s Spring/Summer 2016 you will not see a tie or a suit. You will find a designer looking at space and astronaut wear for inspiration. For this collection, Mr. Ooi was fascinated and inspired by the visuals of the European Space Agency shot by famed photographer Edgar Martins. “It’s all about space suits and finding a creative way to translate it to sportswear,” Ooi said backstage. Edmond Ooi is experimenting with flamboyant tailoring fused with urban street style with an interstellar edge.

The collection utilizes the materials of spacesuits: techno lurex, laminated jersey, and reflective materials. All the fabrics are used to great effect. The runway presentation had the models negotiating a geometric pathway in multiple directions with military precision which complimented the futuristic designs. The innovative jackets and outerwear are the highlights of the collection. The Striped Blazers could be seen in the closets of modern rockers of any gender.

Loris Diran is a New York based designer who had the home town out in full force for his runway presentation at the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men’s. Mr. Diran is of French-Armenian descent and immigrated with his parents to New York City as a child. The Loris Diran fashion aesthetic was formed by his admiration for the high glam of NYC in the ’70s. You can see the influence in looks that can be easily pictured on Studio 54 era David Bowie, the blue overcoat with the bold diagonal stripe for example.
