Men’s label Numbers Lab presented its Fall 2011 collection to a packed audience at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week just a few short weeks ago. Â Dominated by explosive splashes of color and expert tailoring the 4 year old brand continued in its tradition of providing quality fashion in Mens Wear.
Levi’s is to rock and roll what oxygen is to breathing, a very necessary element. In continuing its tradition of providing innovative denim for men’s and women’s fashion Levi held a fall preview on Wooster Street in the heart of NYC’s rock scene.
Walking in to the beat of Kris Bone’s music, I turned and saw this Red Wool Free Form Scarf Coat and I instinctively walked right up to it and stopped. Think about that moment you are trounced with an intense attraction, everything around stops, and then you go in for the kill. As that red coat called me, it suddenly became apparent to others around that I was oblivious since I was now one with the lights, the models and the Rochambeau Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection.
Upon entering, I found myself checking for the items I wanted to take with me on my next boating excursion. Subsequently, I had to remind that my mission was to examine this new collection more objectively.
The longing for something familiar is a common feeling among human nature – whether it is longing for more innocent times, such as one’s childhood, or longing for a fond memory that brings happiness. This feeling is more commonly known as nostalgia, which was the inspiration for designer Bumsuk Choi’s General Idea SS’11 collection that debuted on Wednesday in the tents.
On September 10th, during Mercedes Benz Fashion week, NAUTICA presented its Spring 2011 Collection at the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery, the Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Thirty models featured the easy-to-wear American classics of NAUTICA. Chris Cox, the creative director, love of the sea was clearly evident in the collection that was inspired by “the spirit of the water”.
I am supposing that since Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was moved to Lincoln Center this season the shoes should be all about theater. Walking into the Duckie Brown Spring 2011 show was slightly unnerving as only one side of risers were being utilized. The opposing side was completely empty. This is odd because what folks talk about most during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is who has seats to which show. It was all theater.
