Original Penguin Spring/Summer 2015 Ad Campaign

by xoJohn

Don’t let the crappy cold weather get you down, we have some images that will surely have you daydreaming about beach weather. These colorful photos are courtesy of Original Penguin‘s latest campaign for Spring/Summer which was shot by Justin Chung and styled by Grant Woolhead. The campaign derives its inspirations from a late 1950s Miami street vibe and showcases chromatic, bright colors alongside subtle pastels and tropical patterns. For the shoot, Original Penguin used Miami’s iconic Ocean Drive as the backdrop for their tropical printed, colorful collection. With the refined updates of past styles, such as their new take on the classic polos, geo-printed knits and seersucker suits, this collection nods at a man who gives off sophisticated, easy style cues, fitting the cool ocean backdrop for Miami’s hot summer days.

by xoJohn
As part of the first-ever global brand marketing campaign titled “THIS IS UGG,” the latest campaign explores the theme that sometimes life’s biggest moments are actually the smallest ones.  Whether personal or intimate, reflective or celebratory, it’s often the smaller moments where life’s most important interactions and connections occur.   As a part of the initiative, UGG for Men will launch a series of three spots throughout the season featuring brand ambassador Tom Brady, with the first spot “Time Out,” launching on September 2, 2014.

A Conversation with the Men Behind Modus Man

by xoJohn

We were first introduced to Modus Man earlier this year as the gentleman held a private cocktail party to celebrate their most recent collaboration. I was captivated by the how the line was able to flawlessly mix prints without loosing it’s masculinity. Modus Man is Against “boring” Shirts, and Design is clearly their Obsession. Modus Man delivers Elegance which otherwise cannot be acquired. You will not find it at your common department store, or at any regular boutique for that matter. We recently spoke with co-founders Stanley & Reginald Saint-Amand about how their luxury menswear line, their clientele, and we get to know a little more about them:

Tell us about how Modus Man got started. What was the inspiration behind starting the line?

In summer 2008, the US economy was crumbling. Most businesses related to the Real Estate sector were in trouble. My brother Reginald and I (Stanley) were facing a similar faith; our Miami-based Construction business was suddenly going broke. We had to close up shop. The question surfaced: What is our next step? Online Marketing was our passion. We also loved fashion, and we’ve been lucky to have developed a good eye for it. All the pieces suddenly aligned:

Dockers, a brand that has been putting men and women alike into khaki pants for the past 25 years, put hundreds of men and women into their pants last night. In Manhattan, Right off the Hudson River, fittingly so, Dockers launched their new style of men’s khaki pants. The collection entitled “Alpha” suggest that men, the forgotten species in fashion, like to wear pants that show off their figure too.

Original Penguin Launches The P55 Chino

by xoJohn
Who doesn’t love a good chino? I most certainly do. That’s why I am loving the debut of Original Penguin’s new chino program, the “P55 Chino.” It’s designed to be slim through the hip and knee and slightly tapers at the hem to create a straight leg opening, and hangs just below the waist.

The P55 Chino thankfully comes in comes in 10 trend setting colors colors and includes intricate details such as a chambray binding on the outside seam as well as an internal chambray detailing, welt ticker pockets and comes in a soft, broken-in fabric that has a great touch. You can literally wear these chinos to the office, dinner, or a fancy bar. They are perfect for every man’s wardrobe. As if that wasn’t enough, they only retail for $89 and are available at Original Penguin retail stores and online at www.originalpenguin.com.P55 Chino2
