CWST’s newest collection takes on inspiration from a cellular dead zone known as the San Juan Islands, a secluded archipelago tucked into the Puget Sound pocket located just seventy miles northwest of Seattle. Looks are interpreted by the grey washed rain shadows and Douglas-fir of Orcas Island.

This season Matiere focused on updating looks for the urban global traveler.

One of the few collections that actually designed for cold weather – Matiereused Italian virgin wool, woolen gauze plaids, and luxurious cashmere as running threads throughout, providing both texture and warmth.

I’m a big fan of Matiere’s casual metropolitan looks, and the collection wins as a menswear brand that allows materials to lead the overall design with modern silhouettes.

My infatuation with Lucio Castro’s dynamic collections of seasons past has officially ended.

According to the design team, “The Stonehenge Collection” is inspired by traveling communities in the UK during the mid-1990’s; and moved around in old buses that were transformed into their respective homes and creative spaces. My interpretation – everyone got dressed in complete darkness after coming down from an ultimate high, courtesy of a “California Kush” smoke session.

After a mediocre intro last summer, New York City finally got it right this time around, with the continuation of #NYMD for Men’s Fashion Week. Industria Superstudios in the Meatpacking neighborhood set the scene for a series of collections targeted at fashion-forward men across the globe.

#NYFWM: Joseph Abboud Fall/Winter 2016 Collection

by xoJohn

Joseph Abboud’s Fall / Winter 2016 collection is a tribute to America’s rich sartorial heritage that intricately mingles the tradition of fine tailoring with irreverence, intelligence, and innovation, reminiscent of 1960’s Savile Row and the peacock revolution that took the United States by storm.

See It: Balmain x H&M Men’s Collection

by xoJohn

The collection will drop November 5 at select H&M locations and H&M’s online store. The collection stays true to the Balmain name with embroidery and tailored fits. Sleek blazers, hoodies, leather jackets, and more make up the menswear pieces.

Balmain x H&M Collection (12)

“This Balmain collection for H&M is everything I love about menswear. It is sharp, rich in detail and full of effortless attitude. It’s for all the men in the H&M Balmain Nation, no matter who they are or where they are from.” -Olivier Rousteing

The kingpin of apres surf wear strikes again – Thaddeus O’Neil, known for his relaxed, beach-bum chic collections, takes us on a journey to an isolated, tropical island and leaves us shipwrecked with his lost boys, his Children of the Night. Bloody noses, lips, and eyes don’t stop these boys from strutting down the runway with their passive and stoic bravado. Pineapple prints and loose knits belie the look in their eyes.

Kenneth Ning’s Summer/Spring 2016 collection is a refreshing exploratory leap from seasons past. The color palette has evolved to evoke bright spices. Complex prints reminiscent of sand mandalas bounce throughout the line. Vibrant mustard yellow and crisp jade run along side deep navy. Floral jacquards punctuate a horizontal take on the pinstripe suit. Sheer bandanas emblazoned with floral prints serve to accessorize the outfits, sometimes going so far as to shield the entire face from view.
