On Wednesday, September 1st, we were invited to experience the New Fall Fashions from Kmart Design. We met up with Kathy Huynh, the VP of Women’s Apparel Design, who took the time to walk us through some of the new looks for the upcoming fall season from Kmart’s 2 main brands, Route 66 and Attention. Each line has fashionable trendy clothes at a great price point for those who want to update their closets but are watching their pockets. From the Military-inspired looks or Rocker Chic to the more Feminine Sexy Girly look, there is something for everyone. Kathy believes we should buy a few new pieces and incorporate them into our existing wardrobe to give everything a fresh updated look. Kmart Design wants to keep their customer on trend and in style while making her feel good about herself. You can pair your slim jeggings with an oversized slouchy top or cropped top with a cropped jacket and be ready to go…..don’t forget to finish your look with this fall’s favorite, the combat boot.

Here are some of the deals you will find in the new Kmart Design Store:

  • Faux t-shirt with removable necklace $16.99 (you get 2 tops for the price of one)
  • Military cropped jacket with great detailing $29.99
  • Distressed jeans (a mix of the slouchy look and the boyfriend jean) $29.99
  • High-waisted Peplum Military coat with big brass buttons and a funnel collar (the fabric has a nice weight to it) $99.99
  • Sequin tank $14.99
  • Zip-front jeggings- come in black and dark blue, a hybrid between the look and feel of a jean and the comfort of a legging (great for those who are constantly pulling up their jeggings, we all hate that sagging look) $26.99
  • Skinny Cargo pants- more feminine than the slouchy version, gives you a better shape $24.99
  • Lace front print t-shirt $12.99
  • Faux leather bomber jacket $39.99
  • Faux Zip-front Vest (will be in stores in Oct.) $40.99

A great variety of scarves and hats in all the new fall colors and still at a great price point. Scarves will run you between $9.99 to $12.99 and hats under $20. All the fashionable bags (hobo look to the fold-over) were under $30.

You will find affordable costume jewelry that is on-trend for the upcoming season all under $20, from the rocker look to the more sedate classics. They also have trendy watches for only $24.99.

We also previewed the 25th Anniversary Collection of Jaclyn Smith. Bruce Goldberg, the Director of Classic Brands, took the time to walk us through & explain the inspiration for the new collection. Behind the design and direction was a combination of Jaclyn Smith’s own aesthetic look and the Runways of Paris to create the “Modern Classic” look of the line. An Ad featuring the collection will be featured in Vogue and Glamour in the October issue as well as available for purchase “on line” and in select 250 stores on September 15th. Beginning in September and extending through Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, $1 per collection item will be donated to the “Breast Cancer Research Foundation.”
