Gerber Group will be operating The Pool Bar and Observation Deck at the highly anticipated TWA Hotel, opening May 15.

Always refreshing, the water in the 63-by-20-foot infinity edge pool offers a much-needed respite during sweltering Summers. Come winter, it turns into a pool-cuzzi — the water can be heated up to 100 degrees! Whatever the weather, the H2O is perpetually pristine: the highly filtered water is purified every 30 minutes (a standard pool recirculates every 6 hours!).

Most of the time all you need is a nap to feel rejuvenated. Sometimes you need a real escape. A week-long break from work, school, family, or whatever is zapping all of your energy. This year we finally got around to planning a vacay in Mexico. This would mark our first time in Mexico so, we didn’t want just any hotel. When we were in search of an all-inclusive slice of paradise, Palace Resorts instantly came to mind. The Palace Resorts group is a popular chain of resorts with properties in Jamaica and Mexico. After a very busy Summer, we were in need of some real rest and relaxation. After an exhaustive search through reviews, we thought The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun would be the perfect fit.

Travel agencies are slowly dying out. Booking your own travel arrangements has become as easy making a phone call. With the click of a button, an entire vacation package can be purchased. Though the need for a travel agent is dwindling companies like Mr. & Mrs. Smith are flourishing, by offering unique experiences for travelers. Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a travel club that specializes in small boutique hotels. We met with the founders and some of their club members for an evening of cocktails and a panel discussion on the future of travel. The intimate gathering was hosted by Public a fairly new boutique hotel owned by real estate mogul Ian Schrager.

Location: 225 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030

Cuisine: Seafood/Italian

Best Dish: The Lobster Rigatoni was stupendous. The pasta was well made and the sauce was a light flavorful complement to the succulent lobster. We also highly recommend the creamed kale, it was one of the very best kale dishes we’ve had. The creamy sauce worked well with the bitter kale.

Overall: Halifax is a beautiful space offering delicious farm to table cuisine. The venue is a perfect place for a special occasion, a rare date night, or just a special treat for any seafood lover (like ourselves).

“Live every day like it’s your last” is one of the rules I try to adopt in my life. This includes being adventurous, taking risks, and living without regrets. I often apply this to travel. This travel bug I currently have has me searching flight deals at least once a day, whether it’s for a last-minute adventure or planning a winter getaway for my birthday. Speaking of my birthday, it’s December 27th, in case you wanted to book my next trip.

Smyth, A Thompson Hotel is located down in lower Manhattan or Tribeca, just below the usual tourist traps and walking distance from the financial district. This chic yet homey boutique hotel recently underwent renovations and provides guests with a more casual approach to luxury. We visited the space a few weeks ago to check out the layout and enjoy their cozy bar scene. The hotel is located just outside of the Chambers Street subway station making it an easy place to get to for locals as well as visitors.

Location: 57 East 57th Street New York, NY

Cuisine:American (Brunch)

Best Dish: We love Eggs Benedict! The Eggs Benedict at the hotel did not disappoint. The sauce was creamy and decadent with a sharp citrus flavor.

Overall: An very impressive hotel to say the least, brunch is a grand way to start your weekend. Of course, with any luxurious dining experience, you can expect to pay a little more. But who cares when you’re getting an awesome experience at a fine establishment.

Four Season New York recently unveiled their new FIFTY7 3,200 square feet space. FIFTY7 took the place of the former Bar and L’Atelier Restaurant locations overlooking 58th Street. It’s exquisite, unique, and can be separated by two decorative sliding doors. There will also be two large built-in screens at both ends of the room allowing for digital broadcasts, while the existing windows and wall designs will be incorporated into the space in all of the rooms creating a symmetry and flow.
