In celebration of the opening of the new flagship store on Fifth Avenue, H&M is the fashion retail sponsor of the Whitney Museum of American Art’s “Jeff Koons: A Retrospective.” The museum-inspired store is the perfect showcase for the Swedish retailer’s first-ever artist collaboration with one of the most notable and influential artists of our time, Jeff Koons.
H&M at 589 Fifth Avenue boasts 57,000 square feet and an impressive facade of windows. An impressive five-floor atrium and a 26′ x 20′ LED screen demands attention and creates a regal feel upon entering the store. Timeless finishes including green and white marble tiles, an opulent wall of mirrors, distinct herringbone woodwork and a full concierge shopping service all create a truly unique experience.
This will be the first location worldwide to offer the work of a celebrated contemporary artist of this caliber, making H&M the destination where fashion and art intersect. The Balloon Dog leather handbag will also be carried in select markets across the US including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas, as well as online at hm.com beginning July 17th, 2014. A select number of pieces will also be sold at the Whitney during the Retrospective.

The collection consists of three different styles: boardshorts, swimshorts and trunks. As with every piece in the David Beckham Bodywear range, the focus is on fit, performance, comfort and style.
The result is a swimwear collection which offers a fresh update on classic masculine style. The trunks and swimshorts come in single colours, while the longer boardshorts also come in colour blocks, and in a graphic check.

David will appear in a new campaign for the launch shot by Glen Luchford, with images of David wearing each of the swimwear styles. The collection will be available in all H&M stores that stock menswear and online from May 22.

Last night, celebrities gathered for a major Paris fashion event hosted by H&M and Isabel Marant. Audrey Tautou, January Jones, Freida Pinto, Alek Wek, Olga Kurylenko, and Isabel Marant and other celebrities entered the red carpet. During the evening, the collection was presented in a cinematic setting that mixed images, films and models. The live music performance by Grandmaster Melle Mel and Rappers Delight, originally of Sugarhill Gang, lifted the atmosphere of this bohemian style party inspired by the early 90s.
