Now that the holidays are over and we are in a brand new year, 2018, many of us are proclaiming 2018 as the year to get healthy. Plans will be made, gym memberships purchased and diets researched. While some of us will be focused and motivated many will abandon our attempts at healthfulness by February. Some will be too busy to get to hit the gym and others will be bored with “diet” food. While we certainly aren’t gym rats, we are most likely to get bored with limited dining options. As lifelong foodies, the thought of a restricted meal plan is far more terrifying than the dreaded muffin top or double chin. While we always have and always will advocate body positivity and self-love no matter your shape, we also think a healthier diet is a good idea for all of us. Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t all about losing weight the right diet will keep you energized, focused and balanced. To help us on our way to healthier living we’ve adopted a few products that are tasty enough to satisfy our palates, full of vital nutrients and healthy enough to be good for us too.
Healthy

Cuisine: New American // Farm-to-Table
Overall: A rich and rare dining experience for a neighborhood that is rich in history. It is the kind of place that will have foodies traveling uptown and locals frequenting often.
Location: 303 Park Avenue South, New York, NY

Best Dish: The backyard burger is a surprisingly filling and tasty option, but the Mahi Curry stood out as the favorite. The curry was decadent but somehow the veggies remained crisp and fresh tasting.

Let’s face it: It’s not easy to eat right and stay healthy all the time. Our daily routine can become chaotic, and sometimes having a healthy snack or taking care of ourselves properly is not an option. But our bodies still need vitamins, minerals, and fibers. They are the fuel for our cells, and help support our overall well-being. And one thing is certain: Everyone wants to be healthy.
It’s All About Health and Nutrition at Editor Showcase
Eating healthy is becoming increasingly difficult for foodies. If you are like us, your timeline is constantly flooded with fascinating new recipes and insanely decadent variations on familiar dishes. While indulging in these treats is fine once in a while, a diet of rich fatty foods, sweets, and processed food is a recipe for disaster. A poor diet is a leading factor in many illnesses and fatal diagnoses. To help identify some good foods and healthier snacks to enjoy instead of our bacon wrapped cheese filled fantasies, we visited the “Editor Showcase” a seasonal expo devoted to introducing new brands to the market. While at the event we sampled many tasty new items, but a few truly exceeded expectations and are worth adding to our pantry.
