The Bosideng F/W presentation, though only displaying 12 looks, was as solid as one might expect from the label that got its start primarily as a coat-maker. High-quality fabrics, pieced together in a smooth, almost seamless line. A mix of gray solid 2-button and plaid double-breasted (is there any other kind?) suits balanced the puffy down outerwear pieces.
Fall/Winter
Libertine Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
The Libertine Fall/Winter 2013 collection was presented during New York Fashion Week. The line featured unique patterns, textures and an array of colors. The initial reaction may have been shocking to some, but as soon as you get passed that you will begin to appreciate the bold patterns and bright colors.
Venexiana Fall 2013 Collection
VENEXIANA is known for collections that literally dazzle and the newest collection is no exception. Katie Stern has designed a collection that not only sparkles buy also incorporates the luxuriousness of Fur to raise the level of opulence.
For Fall 2013 VENEXIANA merged Jazz Age Glamour with Punk sensibility. The palette leaned towards the metallic, and included mermaid gowns in pewter, copper, silver and shiny jewel tones.
The hem length ran the spectrum from mini to mermaid. One of my favorite looks was a short golden embellished cocktail dress topped with a fur jacket and paired with funky booties. This look perfectly encapsulates the VENEXIANA aesthetic of – Rock on the Red-Carpet.
Due to the exciting results from last year’s New York Fashion Week, Leather Japan decided to hold another presentation for this season at Box at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, February 13th. Teaming up as Japan Leather Goods Development Committee, 8 leading dapper Japanese brands showcased their leather products.
Custo Barcelona Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
Waiting in line to see the Custo Barcelona Fall 2013 show was like waiting in line to get into the hottest club in the city. The Box Theater at Lincoln Center was packed literally from wall to wall with people. The fall collection offered a wealth of luxe knits for men and women and a slight overload of prints and overdone styling. That’s not to say that the collection didn’t have some great looks because it did. Their take on men’s suits was refreshing with bold prints in muted colors. The styling of the suits was quite questionable because shawls were thrown over them. There were even man capes included in the collection.
Sir Ernest Shackleton is not only the hero of one of the greatest endurance stories in history, he is also the inspiration for Nautica’s Fall 2013 collection. His explorations of Antarctica and other frozen tundra provided the muse for colorful bomber jackets and functional outerwear. Though fans of Nautica may not devote years of their lives to mastering unforgiving terrain, they do have an appreciation for navigating the urban landscape with style and ease. The looks of the collection varied from casual denim to sleek leather overcoats , all with Nautica’s masterful tailoring and uber masculine silhouette.

Sally Lapointe Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
Sally Lapointe debuted her collection the day storm Nemo was set to wreak havoc on New York City. Before the storm was in full bloom, fashion week attendees filled Pier 57 in their fur coats, parkas, and snow boots. When the show began it was as if for 15 minutes we all forgot about the storm that was going on outside and were focused on the edgy silk and leather pieces Sally Lapointe models walked down the runway in.
