Review: Woodpecker by David Burke

by xoJohn

Location: 30 W 30th St, New York, NY 10001

Best Dish: The Salmon was excellent, the combination of fish and veggies was well thought out. The Cricket Pizza was also amazing, we could eat that jalapeño pesto on anything.

Overall: A whimsical destination for Instagram worthy dishes in an artistic atmosphere.

As you may or may not know, David Burke is an acclaimed American Chef with decades of experience. His latest endeavor, Woodpecker, is an experiment of sorts abandoning gas stovetops for the classic wood burning stove.

If all you know of Hooters is tight t-shirts and orange hotpants you are doing your taste buds a grave injustice. From shareable appetizers to decadent desserts you can satisfy your comfort food cravings here.  The first Hooters opened over 30 years ago and since then over 400 locations have been opened across the globe. We visited their New York City location on 33rd Street for a meal and a few drinks. This location is equipped with two dining rooms, a small gift shop and several mounted flat screen TVs. The screens are positioned to allow a good view of the game from any seat in the house. We’ve enjoyed plenty of meals at Hooters over the years but we rarely stray from the usual wings and fries. For our visit, however, we indulged our curiosity and had some lesser-known dishes.

Clinton Hall has gifted us with another Summer hotspot, just this time we’re all going to be crossing the bridge over to Brooklyn and going to their new beer garden at 247 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg! The restaurant is located next to the POD BK Hotel, who Clinton Hall worked with previously to open up their location in midtown earlier this year. Guests can access Clinton Hall through the Pod BK Hotel or by the street entrance.
