Brunch

The season of good weather is coming to a close for New Yorkers. Soon we’ll be trading our flip flops for boots and complaining about the bracing cold. Luckily there are a few weeks of decent weather left to take advantage of. Over the next few weeks, you can make the most of the time we have left by cruising down the picturesque Hudson River Valley with Classic Harbor Line. We took a relaxing cruise up the Hudson River with Classic Harbor Line for their inaugural sail. We were on their chic and retro Manhattan Yacht. This Great Gatsby inspired vessel took us for a long leisurely trip from Manhattan to Poughkeepsie, NY. The voyage is a 4.5-hour excursion straight to Upstate NY, followed by a 3-hour self-guided tour of Poughkeepsie and then a sunset dinner cruise.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But, what if you could have breakfast for dinner? This would be great news for the breakfast aficionados, who never miss a chance to enjoy their favorite meal. For the breakfast lovers – and everyone who enjoys great food – the Village Voice hosted, for the first time, a special food event with the codename Brunch Eats breakfast-for-dinner. The event took place on May 11th, at the top of The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s Flight Deck.Intrepid 1- top deck

Brunch is a weekend treat that usually involves copious amounts of food and beverage. Over the years, we’ve had plenty of boozy brunches with bottomless beverages and sumptuous menus. Last Sunday was the first time we combined brunch with any type of physical activity.

Brunch at Haru Sushi

by Desha Winborne

Location: 220 Park Avenue South

Cuisine: Japanese

Best Dish: The breakfast buns are by far the best item on the brunch menu. The appetizing filling between the soft steamed buns is a fun alternative to the standard breakfast sandwich.

Overall: A quaint casual eatery that is ideal for a lazy weekend brunch.

Brunch is a weekly event all across NYC. Every weekend, hungry diners enter the growing plethora of eateries in search of good food and a relaxing atmosphere. This weekend we ditched the usual places and enjoyed a grand brunch with the Classic Harbor line. We enjoyed our meal sailing on the Hudson, aboard one of their elegant yachts. We boarded the “Yacht Manhattan II”, one of two vessels inspired by the roaring ’20s. We met our vessel at Chelsea Piers along with an assortment of other guests and set sail on a gorgeous Sunday morning.

Spice Up Brunch With Tequila

by xoJohn

This post is sponsored by Hornitos® Tequila

Beautiful weather, great food, and good some elements for a good weekend brunch. Luckily I live in a city where brunch locations are plentiful with many options. My friends and I often search for the best brunch spots New York City has to offer. This includes a great location, preferably on a low traffic street, and great deals, like bottomless drinks.

Location: 57 East 57th Street New York, NY

Cuisine:American (Brunch)

Best Dish: We love Eggs Benedict! The Eggs Benedict at the hotel did not disappoint. The sauce was creamy and decadent with a sharp citrus flavor.

Overall: An very impressive hotel to say the least, brunch is a grand way to start your weekend. Of course, with any luxurious dining experience, you can expect to pay a little more. But who cares when you’re getting an awesome experience at a fine establishment.

Location: 167 Orchard Street

Cuisine:  Southern (Brunch)

Items: 3 entrees 1 side dish 2 cocktails

Best Dish: The patty melt was tasty. The beef was tender and well prepared. Pimento cheese is never our first choice for a burger but somehow on his sandwich it works.

Overall: The atmosphere is light and comfortable with an easy southern charm. This a great space for drinks and small plates but the brunch needs some improvement.
