Best Dish: The Salmon was excellent, the combination of fish and veggies was well thought out. The Cricket Pizza was also amazing, we could eat that jalapeño pesto on anything.

Cost: $$$

Overall: A whimsical destination for Instagram worthy dishes in an artistic atmosphere.

As you may or may not know, David Burke is an acclaimed American Chef with decades of experience. His latest endeavor, Woodpecker, is an experiment of sorts abandoning gas stovetops for the classic wood burning stove.

Bacon is a natural food enhancer, it approves just about anything you add it to. No one knows the power of bacon better than the good people who organize The Great Big Bacon Picnic, an annual feast for bacon lovers. This year’s event was held on September 24^th and 25^th and boasted a lineup of over 100 vendors, each one offering a unique dish of bacon or pork belly.

Scrolling Facebook for the hundredth time one boring afternoon I found the most amazing post. Nestled between some fool complaining and yet another picture of someone’s new baby was an advertisement for “The Great Big Bacon Picnic”. I hadn’t even visited the website and I knew I had to go. In the time it took to get to the official website I already had an outfit picked out and a companion in mind. Williamsburg was going to be hell to get to from the Bronx, on a weekend but this was bacon and bacon is always worth it.
