Best Dish: We adored the seafood spring rolls they were light and crispy a perfect starter, but the star of the night was the burger. This big juicy masterpiece is a must, but if blue cheese isn’t your thing don’t fret they have the same fabulous patty we experienced with other inventive toppings

Overall: A fun casual eatery that caters do cocktail lovers and foodies.

Saturday night we spent a lovely evening at a pop-up supper club judging an epic battle between chefs. Okay maybe epic is a little dramatic but it was a great night nevertheless. The Good Human Project in collaboration with Dinner Lab created this unique dining experience, that introduces foodies to up and coming chefs while raising funds for a worthy cause. Dinner Lab is a by their own definition a social experiment, bringing food lovers together via pop-up eateries where they sample dishes from new chefs. The events hosted by Dinner Lab are usually on a need to know basis, which means if you are not a card-carrying member of the club, you don’t need to know. Only members are allowed to their functions, but on Saturday night the rules were bent just a little in order to raise money for The Lily Fund, a charity whose mission is to find a cure for GME. GME is a central nervous condition that affects our canine friends. The lily fund is part of the good human project’s animal welfare fund.

This past Saturday the All-Star Chef Classic rounded out its four-day experience with the Grill & Chill presented by DCS and Stella Artois. The closing night event took place both inside of Restaurant Stadium and in the All-Star Chefs’ Tasting Arena.

The All-Star Chefs’ Tasting Arena was an open-air foodtopia! Yes, I just made that word up. There were tents placed throughout the venue that represented a variety of food options. After checking in I was handed a key ring that had a bunch of mini credentials on it, each credential represented a tent. In order to try a particular dish you had to hand in the credential with the chefs’ name on it and in turn, you would receive a plate.

Melissa’s, the largest distributor of specialty produce in the United States, presented the All-Star Chef Classic Cuisine For The Cure benefiting City of Hope on Friday, March 13 at Restaurant Stadium. City of Hope, located in Duarte, CA, is “the leading research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases.”

The All-Star Chefs that were tasked with throwing down in the kitchen for this event were Suzanne Goin, Brooks Headley, Jenn Louis, and Aaron Sanchez. The theme for the night was superfoods, each chef had to incorporate these “nutrient powerhouses that pack large doses of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals” into his or her dish. The chefs did some awesome things; the food was tasty, healthy, and light.

The American Masters Dinner presented by Mercedes-Benz took Friday night as part of the second annual All-Star Chef Classic. An event space located on the L.A. Live campus was transformed into Restaurant Stadium, “a state-of-the-art venue [that brought] over 300 fans ‘kitchen-side’ in an intimate VIP setting, where they [were] as close to the action as possible without being in the heat of the kitchen. “

Best Dish: The steak was absolutely amazing thick and flavorful, second only to the Cavatelli. The pasta’s rich sauce and texture are a must have.

Overall: TBar is a comfortable place with great service and appetizing food.  The beautiful surroundings and soft lighting make it an ideal and impressive date place.

On a bustling block on the upper east side lies an oasis. T Bar Steak and Lounge has been making its mark on the local food scene with fresh unassuming classically delicious food. We ventured to the beautiful steakhouse a little over a week ago to sample some of their dishes. The night began as always with a perusal of the menu. With restaurant week in full swing the space offered its ala carte menu as well a prix fixe menu of their most popular dishes. We spent just a few short moments looking over the goods before getting into our first courses.
