Burju Shoe Launch & Fashion Presentation

by xoJohn

Burju Peréz celebrated the New York City launch of her dance-inspired shoe collection, perfectly named Burju Shoes. The tri-level launch at NEST featured a Meet & Greet with Burju Peréz, fashion presentations taking place every 20 minutes, custom fittings for all guests, a to-die-for candy buffet, a gourmet food bars provided by Las Chicas Bakery, and live music provided by DJ Danny Ramirez and pianist Gilberto “Pulpo” Colén, Jr. Models wore dresses by Kathlin Argiro and jewelry by Lisa Lindhardt.

For Burju, style often supersedes comfort, even if it’s at the expense of her feet. Soon, she recognized a niche for women who wanted the comfort, engineering and support of a professional dance shoe, with the current style of your average Nine West or Steve Madden design. So, she merged the two, and her shoes as she describes them, “fit like a sock,” and allow for you to stand on them for hours.

Cheers to Burju and her team on a great launch!

Nautica, founded in 1983, took its name from the Latin word “Nauticus” for ship. So what better place to hold an exclusive preview of their Fall 2009 Menswear Collection, than the Intrepid Museum. The museum made for a nice backdrop to the collection featuring thirty looks. The ensembles featured classic naval outerwear, cotton peacoats in navy and charcoal wool, double-faced rain jackets, orange coast guard parka, 3/4 length Captain’s coat, a nylon puffer jacket with faux fur trim collar, and cotton/wool pants.

During the presentation, a short film played on the huge screen (pictured above) showing planes landing and taking off on the Essex class carrier. Tons of pictures when you read the rest.

Socialite Genevieve Jones and La Perla celebrated the launch of their new 2009 collections. The exclusive preview was held at the La Perla flagship store, located conveniently in the heart of the meatpacking district. Guests enjoyed complementary specialty drinks provided by Skyy Vodka. The very sweet Genevieve Jones kindly model her jewelry collection for us. She looked stunning in her strapless Zac Posen (who was also in attendance) dress, consisting of a white bodice, textured metallic skirt and of course her own jewelry line. Stacie J. and Patrick Wellington

Wellington Hair Spa specializes in custom tailored consultations and hair analysis for all hair types. If you seek natural hair care, colors, trims, cuts, and conditioning treatments, Wellington Hair Spa should be on your short list of hair spas. To celebrate 25 years of exceptional hair service, the spa held an exclusive bash at the salon located in the heart of Chelsea (NYC). Founder Patrick Wellington greeted the crowd and NBC’s The Apprentice season two contestant/entrepreneur Stacie J hosted the event alongside hair care brand Mizani (Swahili for balance). Mizani consists of professional relaxers, shampoos, treatments, and hair colors. Chef Jesse Jones provided the Hors D’oeuvres, which were delicious and went quite well with the Bouké wine.

Guests did not leave empty-handed More details and HQ pictures when you read the rest.

When we received an invite to attend Charlotte Ronson’s Fall 2009 Collection, we could not resist. Samantha Ronson provided the sounds for the presentation, which included forty looks. The collection consisted of fringes, leather pants, high-waist shorts, patchwork, motorcycle jackets, and studs. A closer look of some of our favorite looks can be seen when you read the rest; along with a video of the finale and Lindsey Lohan backstage! Enjoy!
