Friends of Hudson River Park celebrated their inaugural Spring Fling event in downtown Manhattan at the newly designed and recently reopened Winter Garden at Brookfield Place. Friends of Hudson River Park’s Spring Fling marks the first private event to be held in the space since the grand reopening of New York City’s downtown luxury destination for retail, culinary, arts and culture. Proceeds of the night went towards the preservation of New York City’s westside waterfront oasis, Hudson River Park.
The Misshapes, DJs Leigh Lezark, Geordon Nicol, and Greg Krelenstein kept the crowd moving and grooving while they enjoyed a delicious culinary experience provided by Le District, a new curated market and dining destination led by restaurateur Peter Poulakakos, which honors the rich culinary heritage of France and all Francophone countries. A special auction was also conducted to add to the excitement, presenting guests with the opportunity to bid on exclusive finds and packages.
Spotted enjoying the night were notables like, Orange Is the New Black actress Uzoamaka Nwaneka “Uzo” Aduba, Boardwalk Empire actress Margot Bingham, and a daytime host Wendy Williams, among others. Towards the end of the night, everyone made their way towards the stage for a electrifying performance by Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter, Janelle Monáe.
