Moët & Chandon: The Official Champagne of the amfAR Gala

Continuing its longstanding support of international cinema, Moët & Chandon, the official champagne of the amfAR Gala, last night auctioned a luxurious coffret of its legendary champagne Grand Vintage Collection 1893 at the 20th annual amfAR Gala, Cinema Against AIDS. Held during the 66th Cannes Film Festival, Moët & Chandon’s 120-year-old treasure was auctioned for €50,000 with proceeds benefiting lifesaving AIDS research.

With the goal of topping all previous amfAR fundraisers, Heidi Klum helped open the event with a speech extolling the crowd to down a glass of Moët & Chandon to help loosen the purse strings. She toasted the crowd, began to down the glass and then stopped saying, “I have to stop, but you should keep drinking!”


Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone was overheard saying that tonight was her mother’s 80th birthday, but she chose to be at the 20th Anniversary of amfAR to support the charity and its longstanding work to AIDS research. Also celebrating the 20th Anniversary of amfAR were Adrian Brody and Rosario Dawson, who celebrated by leading a Moët & Chandon Imperial toast with the A-list crowd.

The star-studded amfAR Gala is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Cannes Film Festival. Moët & Chandon hosted and toasted the cinema world’s most successful celebrities at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, including Janet Jackson, Sharon Stone, Jessica Chastain, Christoph Waltz, Adrian Brody, Milla Jovovich and many others.
