Sean Paul Celebrates New Album in NYC

For over a decade reggae fans have enjoyed the music of Sean Paul. Since his debut album in 2000 he has gained a loyal fan base as well as critical acclaim.  He has also been honored by the music industry with several awards including an American Music Award, Soul Train Music Award and a Grammy.  With his 5th studio  album “Tomahawk Technique” Paul re-enters the world of reggae music after a 3 year hiatus.  We enjoyed the privilege of attending a listening party featuring a performance by the super star.  The event was held at the lush “Darby Downstairs” in NYC’s Chelsea.  The ambient lighting and plush surroundings added to the evenings excitement.  Guests enjoyed passing snacks and complimentary cocktails while waiting for the main event.  Sean Paul rushed the stage excitedly giving shout outs to the many guest stars on the album as well as his loyal fans.  Guest stars on this album include, Kelly Rowland, Alexis Jordan and producer Billy Blanco.  Along with the new album Sean Paul also donned a new look. His signature cornrows have been replaced by a Mohawk.

The Mohawk and the “Tomahawk Technique” are all part of Sean Paul’s commitment to being on the cutting edge of music.  Though he his hair and outlook have changed he remains loyal to his roots providing uplifting lyrics and his trademark patois.  The crowd enjoyed hits from the latest Album including “How deep is your love”, “Hold On” and “Got 2 Luv You”.   The room was filled with industry executives, press and media insiders all of which danced and sang along.  Fans can pick up the “Tomahawk Technique” on its release date September 18th.
