The UGG for Men store is the first men’s store that UGG Australia has ever opened and houses the UGG for Men collection that includes footwear, outerwear, small leather goods and accessories, as well as the new higher end pre-Fall UGG Collection for Men featuring Italian made and produced footwear that just hit retail in June.
Tom Brady was in attendance and he mingled with press, guests and retailers throughout the night with DJ Mel Debarge spinning tunes throughout the night.
Tom wore his favorite Hannen boots and looked smart in a cardigan, dress shirt, jeans and glasses.
“UGG for Men has grown into a stand-alone line that deserves its own storefront,” said Connie Rishwain, President, UGG Australia (pictured above). “Men requested their own dedicated space and we’re excited to give them just that.”
The design inspiration of the new 800 square foot store blends classic male iconography while keeping true to what the UGG for Men stands for: authenticity, confidence and effortless style. Design elements will feature a fusion of engineering and style taken from the worlds of aviation, sailing and motorcycle culture.
To gather inspiration for the material palette, the design team conducted extensive research in London at the Museum of Nautical History, surveying various historical artifacts, specifically hardware and metal products such as hand-screwed and riveted aluminum plates in fixtures in the store. The seating for customer try-on’s takes cues from a Spitfire fighter plane with hammered aluminum plates and hand-finished antiqued leather. Furthermore, the store features custom designed lights from Denmark that resemble classic motorbike headlamps. Rounding out the look, textures of natural stone, honed quarter cut oiled oak and bomber jacket leather are also incorporated into the décor.
