For the month of June, SUSHISAMBA will be offering a Brazilian inspired happy hour and reverse happy hour at both of their NY locations. The restaurants will feature Brazilian entertainment and workshops (including Caipirinha cocktail lessons) that pay homage to the cuisine that makes up a third of the SUSHISAMBA menu.

Caliche Rum is a product collaboration of Roberto Serrallés of Destilería Serrallés, a renowned sixth generation family-owned rum business, and prominent hospitality and nightlife impresario, Rande Gerber. The rum launched recently in March and is now available for $24.99 in major cities including LA, NY, Chicago, Miami and Dallas.

There is no better way to kick-off summer and celebrate any occasion than a fresh take on an old classic — Caliche Old Fashioned cocktail. Check out the recipes below.

Caliche Old Fashioned
2 oz Caliche Rum
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1/2 oz Sugar Cane Syrup
1 Maraschino Cherry
1 Orange Wedge

Mix sugar cane syrup and angostura bitters in an old-fashioned glass. Drop in a cherry and an orange wedge. Muddle into a paste using a muddler or the back end of a spoon. Pour in the Caliche Rum, fill with ice cubes, and stir for at least 10 seconds or until well chilled. Garnish with a orange twist and a cherry.

Gold Sparkling Lemonade
1.5 oz. Russian Standard Gold
1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
2 oz. Top of Prosecco

Combine all ingredients (except Prosecco) into a mixing tin
Fill 2/3 with ice
Shake vigorously and strain over fresh ice into a tall glass
Top with Prosecco
Garnish with two lemon wheels

SAMBAHour will take place Sunday – Thursday from 4 – 7pm and 11pm – close.
