HBO Documentary Films & the Humane Society of the United States present “One Nation Under Dog”

Uggie, the canine darling of the Academy Awarding winning movie The Artist, stole the show once again at HBO’s screening of “One Nation Under Dog: Stories of Fear, Loss & Betrayal” on Wednesday, June 6th at the Lighthouse in New York City. Looking dapper in his black tie and wagging the red carpet, Uggie provided the pre-screening levity to the documentary that explores the complex relationship between dogs and their owners along with the daunting realities that millions of unwanted shelter dogs face.

“One Nation Under Dog: Stories of Fear, Loss & Betrayal” debuts on Monday, June 18 (9:00 – 10:15 p.m. ET/PT) exclusively on HBO and launches the HBO Documentary Films summer series. The documentary highlights the lengths owners will go to for their dogs, the deep bonds between dogs and humans and the volunteers who rescue dogs from puppy mills and animal shelters. Ellen Goosenberg produced the documentary inspired by the book “One Nation Under Dog” by Michael Schaffer.
